Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Facility
A number of 1 hour tutorials are offered on a variety of topics concerning the use of the Topspin software. These tutorials are a hands on experience in the NMR Facility's processing lab. The class size is limited to 6 people. To take part in the class you must be a registered user of the NMR Facility. I addition you must have already acquired some data of your own as this data will be the raw material used in the tutorials.
In this tutorial the basics of processing a 1D NMR spectrum will be covered. How to transform a spectrum, calibrate, phase and baselinecorrect. In addition methods to pick peaks and integrate the spectrum will be discussed. Techniques to create digital output of data will looked at in detail.
More advanced techniques in processing data including zero-filling and line broadening will be covered in the second tutorial. Also the creation of stacked plots for the comparative representation of multiple 1D spectra will introduced.
This session will serve as an introduction to 2D NMR spectroscopy. Unlike the other tutorials the data will be provide to you. A number of different experiment types will be introduced including the HSQC, HMBC, COSY and NOESY experiments. A brief theoretical background will be given on the nature of 2D spectroscopy followed by a practical approach to the processing of 2D data sets.
