Troubleshooting

Problem: The automation interface appears to lock, usually after trying to change an NMR parameter
Solution: Check that the XWINNMR program is not waiting for input. The XWINNMR program window is usually minmized and looks like this:

The XWINNMR icon

Click to open and enter the required value for your parameter in the small window.

Problem: There is no signal in my 13C spectrum, not even a solvent peak e.g., CDCl3.
Solution: Check that the QNP switch is set to automatic. This means that the light in the white button labelled "MANUAL" at the bottom of the preamplifier housing next to the base of the magnet should be switched off. If the light is on, push it up to 3 times until it switches off.
